The Problem With Modern Bloat
Most tech professionals are conditioned to chase the newest M3 or M4 MacBook. Meanwhile, my setup of choice remains a battle-tested 2015–2017 MacBook Pro running a clean, lightweight Linux distribution.
Depending on the hardware goals, I typically deploy either MX Linux for its incredible speed and efficiency, or Ubuntu for its rock-solid stability and massive developer ecosystem
Why? Because when operating systems and applications bloat up, hardware lifespan plummets. Fans run at full speed just opening a browser tab, battery life degrades, and we accept planned obsolescence as normal.
Blazing-fast responsiveness even on older physical architecture.
Dramatic recovery of battery life by cutting background telemetries.
Total data privacy and absolute system ownership.

The Bridge to Digital Optimization
It’s the exact same philosophy I bring to website audits and conversion rate optimization at Ed Fang Growth Lab. Most business websites are bogged down with bloated plugins, unoptimized third-party scripts, and heavy frameworks that kill site speed and leak revenue.
You don't always need a brand-new, expensive stack to win. You just need to strip away the friction and optimize what you already have.
